Mason Young Scores Pair Of Touchdowns To Carry No. 7 Brighton Past No. 17 Olympus

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Mason Young ran for a pair of touchdowns to lead the No. 7 Brighton Bengals past the No. 17 Olympus Titans on Friday night.
No. 7 Brighton 21 No. 17 Olympus 14
After the game was tied 14-14 at haltime, the Bengals pitched a shutout on defense in the second half.
Young scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the third quarter and the Bengals’ defense did the rest.
Brighton improved to a perfect 5-0 record with the seven-point victory. Olympus fell to 2-3 on the season with the loss.

Region 5
Woods Cross 24 Bountiful 26
The Bountiful Braves squeaked past the Woods Cross Wildcats 26-24 on Friday. The Braves outscored the Wildcats 12-3 over the final 12 minutes of play to pull out the win. Bountiful quarterback Max Barker threw a pair of touchdowns in the win and helped the Braves improve to 3-2 this season.
Bonneville 44 Viewmont 27
The Bonneville Lakers blanked the Viewmont Vikings 17-0 in the second half to win 44-27 on Friday night. Bonneville quarterback Kamen Best tossed three touchdowns in the win. Viewmont’s Will Schultz threw four touchdown passes in the loss. The Lakers improved to 4-1 this season with the result.
Box Elder 15 Farmington 14
The Box Elder Bees scored a touchdown midway through the final quarter of play to move past the Farmington Phoenix for a 15-14 win. Box Elder quarterback Parker Buchanan connected with Trevin Johnson for the game-winning score. It was the first victory of the season for the Bees who improved to 1-4 on the year.

Skyline 52 Hillcrest 0
The Skyline Eagles flew past the Hillcrest Huskies 52-0 on Friday night. The Eagles scored 45 of their 52 points in the first half on their way to shutting out the Huskies. Skyline quarterback Braxton Bolingbroke threw five touchdowns passes in the blowout. The Eagles improved to 5-0 on the year with the win.
Region 7
Mountain Ridge 3 Timpview 43
The Timpview Thunderbirds flew past the Mountain Ridge Sentinels 43-3 on Friday. The T-Birds scored 28 points in the third quarter on their way to a big win. Timpview’s Misi Tuha ran for a pair of touchdowns in the game. It was the first win of the season for the Thunderbirds.
Region 8
Spanish Fork 17 No. 18 Wasatch 26
The No 18 Wasatch Wasps scored 10 unanswered points in the final 12 minutes of the game to move past the Spanish Fork Dons 26-17. Wasatch quarterback Adarius Edwards tossed a pair of touchdown passes in the win. The Wasps improved to 4-1 on the season with the victory.
Springville 41 Provo 14
The Springville Red Devils outscored the Provo Bulldogs 27-7 over the final 24 minutes of game time to win 41-14 on Friday night. Springville’s Seth Rigtrup ran for two touchdowns in the game. The Red Devils improved to 2-3 on the season with the blowout victory.

Highland 10 No. 15 Salem Hills 43
The No. 15 Salem Hills SkyHawks moved to a perfect 4-0 record with a 43-10 win over the Highland Rams. Salem Hills quarterback Jarret Elmer accounted for four touchdowns in the game. Two of Elmer’s scores can through the air, while he ran in another pair of touchdowns.
Murray 9 No. 14 Maple Mountain 35
The No. 14 Maple Mountain Golden Eagle cruised to a 35-9 win over the Murray Spartans on Friday evening. Maple Mountain jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead in the first quarter and the Spartans could’ve keep up on the scoreboard with only one field goal and a single touchdown. The Golden Eagles improved to 4-1 with the win.
Payson 12 South Summit (3A) 34
The South Summit Wildcats scored 27 points in the first half and locked down the Payson Lions’ offense all game long for a 34-12 win. The Wildcats’ Dart Sanches ran in a pair of touchdowns in the contest. South Summit improved to 3-2 on the season with the result.
Summit Academy (3A) 56 Timpanogos 30
The Summit Academy Bears crushed the Timpanogos Timberwolves 56-30 behind Jaxon Cases’ four touchdown performance. Summit Academy quarterback Joe Garlick added three touchdowns through the air as the Bears picked up their fifth victory of the season. Summit Academy improved to perfect 5-0 with the win.
