Four-Star Linebacker Mason Tufaga Commits To Utah Football

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The University of Utah football program received a commitment from linebacker Mason Tufaga.
Tufaga is a 4-star inside linebacker who is the No. 2 prospect in the state of Hawai’i, the 11th ranked inside linebacker in the country and the No. 278 overall prospect according to 247Sports composite.
The Honolulu, Hawai’i native prepped at St. Louis High School. He is 6’1 and 210-pounds. Tufaga announced his commitment to Utah on Twitter on Monday.

Utah defensive line coach Lewis Powell was the primary recruiter and linebacker coach Colton Swan was the secondary recruiter.
247Sports is comparing Tufaga to former Ute Pita Taumoepenu.
Other offers that Tufaga received includes Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Fresno State, Hawai’i, Nebraska, Oregon, Oregon State, South Carolina, USC and Utah State.
Nine players have now committed to Utah in the 2021 class. Tufaga is the second four-star prospect, joining quarterback Peter Costelli. The Utes have also received commitments from running back Ricky Parks, defensive tackle Tevita Fotu, inside linebacker Trey Reynolds, offensive lineman Koli Faaiu, wide receiver Deamikkio Nathan, weak side defensive end Viliami Po’uha and outside linebacker Jonah Elliss.
