No. 7 Brighton Bengals Beat Bountiful Braves Behind Rushing Attack

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Brighton Bengals beat the Bountiful Braves for a 19 point victory on Friday night.
Bountiful 17 No. 7 Brighton 36
After scoring 20 points in the first half, the Bengals added another 16 points over the final 24 minutes to beat the Braves 36-17.
Brighton’s Gabe Curtis and Mason Young each ran for a pair of touchdowns in the victory.

Region 6
Hillcrest 14 Highland 49
The Highland Rams defended home field and took down the Hillcrest Huskies 49-14 on Friday evening. The Rams scored 28 points in the second quarter their way to victory. Highland’s Patrick Brennan ran for a pair of scores in the win.
No. 19 Olympus 49 Murray 3
The No. 19 Olympus Titans blasted the Murray Spartans 49-3 on Friday night. After the Spartans jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, the Titans responded with 49 unanswered points over the 35-plus minutes of game-time on their way to a big win. Olympus ran for five touchdowns in the blowout.
Region 7
Alta 14 No. 9 Orem 24
The No. 9 Orem Tigers picked up their first win since former head coach Jeremy Hill stepped down earlier in the week. The Tigers beat the Alta Hawks 24-14 behind rushing touchdowns from Kolton Brown-Dye and Joe Smith. Despite the loss, Alta may have earned this week’s play of the week with a completed deep ball for a touchdown a the end of the first half.
No. 16 Lehi 40 Mountain Ridge 14
The No. 16 Lehi Pioneers scored 26 unanswered points in the second half to defeat the Mountain Ridge Sentinels 40-14 on Friday. Lehi’s Chandler Jenkins ran for four touchdowns in the big win.

No. 17 Maple Mountain 29 Springville 15
The No. 17 Maple Mountain Golden Eagles scored 15 points in the second half to close out the Springville Red Devils 29-15 on Friday. Maple Mountain Bryson McQuivey tossed three touchdowns in the game.
It has been a long time since Maple Mountain has beaten Springville. What a game.

Cottonwood 0 Skyline 69
The Skyline Eagles shutout the Cottonwood Colts 69-0 on Friday night. 49 of Skyline’s points came in the first half of play. Eagles quarterback Braxton Bolingbroke threw three touchdowns in the blowout.
No. 4 Lone Peak (6A) 55 Farmington 7
The No. 4 Lone Peak Knights soundly defeated the Farmington Phoenix 55-7 on Friday night. The Knights scored 35 points in the first half and held the Phoenix scoreless in the second half on their way to victory. Lone Peak quarterback Luke Romney tossed three touchdowns in the win.
Mountain Crest (4A) 14 Bonneville 42
The Bonneville Lakers blasted the M0untain Crest Mustangs 42-14 on Friday night. After things were squared up 14-14 at halftime, the Lakers scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to pick up the big win. Bonneville’s Kamen Best ran for a pair of touchdowns in the game.
Payson 14 Timpanogos 34
The Timpanogos Timberwolves picked up a 20 point victory over the Payson Lions on Friday evening. After owning a 13-7 lead at halftime, the Timberwolves scored 21 straight points in the third quarter on their way to a 34-14 win. Matu Holdaway threw four touchdowns to lead Timpanogos to victory.
