Major League Soccer Immediately Commences Investigation On Real Salt Lake Owner Dell Loy Hansen

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The MLS Players Association has released a statement following an article published by The Athletic that depicts Real Salt Lake’s owner Dell Loy Hansen as a racist and bigot.

In response to the article and the request from the MLS PA, the league has launched an immediate investigation into the behaviour and accusations against Hansen.

Throughout the article, Hansen is accused of using racist language in front of witnesses. Specifically, former player, head scout and assistant coach Andy Williams who confesses a number of instances in which he has experienced racial slurs being used by the club’s owner.
“We are deeply concerned about the allegations made in a report published this evening concerning language used by and the conduct of Real Salt Lake owner Dell Loy Hansen,” the statement reads. “Major League Soccer has zero tolerance for this type of language or conduct and will immediately commence an investigation.”
