BYU Football Announces 2020 Games Against UTSA, Texas State
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The BYU Cougars announced the addition of football games against UTSA and Texas State to the 2020 schedule.
BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe announced the games on Wednesday, August 26.
The Cougars will play the UTSA Roadrunners on October 10 and the Texas State Bobcats on October 24.
Both games will be played at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah.
With the two games, BYU now has eight games on its 2020 college football schedule.
Last season, UTSA posted a 4-8 record while going 3-5 in Conference-USA games.
The Roadrunners had wins over Old Dominion, UTEP, and Incarnate Word. UTSA had 2019 losses to Baylor, Army, and Texas A&M.
Texas State Bobcats
In 2019, Texas State finished with a 3-9 record, including a 2-6 record in the Sun Belt Conference.
The Bobcats had wins over Georgia State, Nicholls, and South Alabama. Last season, Texas State had losses to No. 12 Texas A&M, Wyoming, Troy, and No. 24 Appalachian State.
2020 BYU Football Schedule
Currently, BYU’s 2020 campaign consists of the following games:
- September 7 @ Navy
- September 19 @ Army
- September 26 vs. Troy
- October 10 vs. UTSA
- October 16 vs. Houston
- October 24 vs. Texas State
- October 31 vs. Western Kentucky
- November 21 vs. Northern Alabama
The Cougars open the schedule on the road against the Naval Academy on Labor Day, Monday, September 7.
The game will take place at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and will start at 6 p.m. (MDT). It will be broadcast on ESPN and KSL NewsRadio 1160 AM & 102.7 FM.
BYU said that “kickoff times and broadcast plans will be announced at a later date, as will additional games as they are finalized.”
