Real Salt Lake’s Corey Baird Steps Into Box, Buries Shot For First Goal Of Season Against Colorado

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake forward Corey Baird stepped up into the box and buried a shot for his first goal of the year against the Colorado Rapids.
Baird and RSL played on the road against Colorado on Saturday, August 22.
In the 85th minute, Baird patiently waited at the top of the box, received a pass, stepped into a kick, and connected with the back of the left side of the net.
Baird’s goal put RSL up 3-1 late in the second half.

Baird entered the match having appeared in four matches this season with zero shots on goal.
The goal was RSL’s s third of the second half.
Early in the match, Colorado took a 1-0 lead during the 38th minute on an own-goal by RSL’s Aaron Herrera.
In the 57th minute of play, Damir Kreilach buried a laser shot into the right side of the net to tie Real Salt Lake and Colorado at 1-1.
During the 76th minute of action, Maikel Chang took advantage of a scoring opportunity inside the box as Colorado goalkeeper William Yarbrough fell to the turf.
