No. 4 Lone Peak’s Defense Shuts Down No. 5 Timpview

PROVO, Utah – The fourth-ranked Lone Peak Knights had a tremendous performance that was carried by their defense. They traveled to Timpview and pulled off a 24-0 win over the No. 5 Thunderbirds.
The duo was ranked in the top five of the KSLSports.com top 20 ranking. It was the Game Night Live Game of the Week.
Start to finish, the Lone Peak Knights put on an impressive show in a road game to open the season.

Defensive Effort
The first score didn’t come until 3:47 left in the second quarter Lone Peak found the end zone when Siale Tahi ran it in from one-yard out.
The Knights were able to get a field goal just before the halftime break with a 10-0 lead.
Timpview fumbled the ball to start the second half but Lone Peak couldn’t convert. On the following possession, the Thunderbirds turned the ball over again and this time the Knights capitalized with a one-yard rushing touchdown from Tahi to take a 17-0 lead midway through the third quarter.
Timpview had a chance to get on the scoreboard when highly-touted recruit Logan Fano intercepted the ball and returned it for a touchdown but the TD was called back but the interception remained. But, that drive didn’t turn into any points.
Tahi put the game away in the fourth quarter with a three-yard touchdown from Tahi. That gave the Knights a 24-0 lead.
Tahi finished with all three of the Knights’ touchdowns.
Up Next
Lone Peak improved to 1-0 on the season. They will host the Jordan Beetdiggers on Friday at 7 p.m.
Timpview dropped to 0-1 on the season. They will travel to American Fork to face the Cavemen on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The Game Night Live Game of the Week in Week 2 will be at Corner Canyon as the Chargers host the Herriman Mustangs. The game will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday night and will be broadcast on the KSL TV app and KSLSports.com.
