Utah Football Barely Breaks Top 20 In First 2020 Coaches Poll

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The first college football coaches poll of 2020 is in and Utah Football came in at No. 20.
The Amway Coaches poll, found on USA Today, uses a panel of FBS coaches and runs throughout the regular college football season. Each coach submits a top 25.
The Clemson Tigers captured the number one spot, followed by Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia and LSU rounds out the top 5.
Pac-12 In The First 2020 Coaches Poll
The top-ranked Pac-12 team in the poll is Oregon, coming in at No. 9. Next, USC drops in at No. 17.
Utah is the only other Pac-12 team ranked at No. 20.

Utah will USC and Oregon back to back. First, the Trojans travel to Salt Lake City on November 27 then the Ducks travel to Salt Lake on December 5 for the final game of the regular season.

The Utah Utes came in at No. 25 in the FOX Sports Top 25 preseason poll.

Back in June, 247Sports ranked Utah No. 22 in their preseason poll.
2020 Utah Football Season
After a tumultuous offseason due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Pac-12 Conference decided to play a 10-game, conference-only schedule.
The start of the season is also delayed. The Utes are slated to start playing on September 26 against Washington State in Pullman.

For now, the Pac-12 plans to have a football season, but there are plans in place – like a loan program – in case the season is canceled and schools find themselves in financial trouble.
