SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz guard Joe Ingles decided to joke around with the opponent by joining the Memphis Grizzlies’ huddle during the middle of a game.
Ingles and the Jazz played the Grizzlies in Utah’s fourth game of the NBA’s restart at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida on Wednesday, August 5.
With 4:23 left in the third quarter, Ingles stepped up to the Memphis’ huddle during a dead ball and put his arms around some of Utah’s opposing players as if he were a member of Grizzlies.
Ingles finished the game with a game-high 25 points on 7-13 shooting, including 6-11 from downtown. He added 4 rebounds and 5 assists in 34 minutes of action.

One of the players was former Jazzman and current Memphis guard Grayson Allen, who played with Utah during his rookie season in 2018-19. The Jazz traded Allen to the Grizzlies in 2019 as part of a deal that brought Mike Conley to Salt Lake City.
Jazz rookie Grayson Allen goes for a career-high 23 points vs. Sacramento but still gets roasted by his teammates for being last in the locker room. “People change,” Joe Ingles joked. 😂 pic.twitter.com/IwFBuxNMYb

Ingles has been known as somewhat of a comedian around the NBA and could be classified as a humorous personality on the Jazz.
Jazz forward Joe Ingles ends with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists after returning with a bandaged head wrap to beat Memphis 96-88. Ingles became aware that he was trending on social media after getting 4 stitches. “That’s what I’ve been striving for my whole life,” he joked. pic.twitter.com/s3ASeM4eqi

He and Conley were recently mic’d up during one of Utah’s games and had a good time joking around.
