It’s the third poll that was released during the off-season that Utah has appeared in the top 25. Pro Football Focus released their “way-too-early” top 25 poll. They ranked Utah at No. 15.
In June, 247Sports ranked Utah No. 22 in the country in their poll.
Utah is coming off of an 11-3 season in 2019 with a trip to the Pac-12 Championship game after winning the south division for the second straight season. They lost to Oregon in the title game as well as to Texas in the Alamo Bowl.
The Utes return nine starters from last season, including seven players on offense and just two players on defense. They will have a new quarterback, starting running back and a new left tackle on offense. South Carolina graduate transfer Jake Bentley and Texas transfer Cameron Rising are expected to battle for the starting quarterback position.
Devin Brumfield and Jordan Wilmore are expected to replace Zack Moss, who is the school’s all-time leading rusher.
