SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Los Angeles Angels are calling up former Salt Lake Bees outfielder Jo Adell.

Adell is one of the top prospects for the Angels.

According to Angels beat writer Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register, Adell will join the Angels before their series against the Seattle Mariners.

The Angels drafted Adell in the first round of the 2017 MLB Draft. The Shelby, North Carolina native played 27 games for the Bees in 2019. He recorded 32 hits, 22 runs and 8 RBI’s. Adell was walked 10 times and struck out 43 times. He finished the season with a .264 batting average, .321 on-base percentage and .355 slugging percentage.

Los Angeles is currently struggling this season with a 3-7 record and are last in the AL West. They will begin a six-game road trip in Seattle for three games from August 4-6 before playing a three-game set in Texas against the Rangers from August 7-9.

The Angels lost their previous series to the Houston Astros 2-1 while also losing to the Mariners 2-1 at home at the end of July.
