SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – It is a big week for the PGA Tour as 45 of the top 50 players in the world are expected to tee it up at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational in Memphis, Tennessee this week marking it the most prestigious event since the return to golf.
Salt Lake City native, Tony Finau, is one of the 45 top players in the world who will be seeking his second tour victory. Currently, Finau is listed as the 16th best player in the world and is playing some of the best golf in his career.
Since the return of golf from the suspension caused by the coronavirus, Finau has made the cut on all but one occasion
This week, Finau will play alongside Gary Woodland and Mathew Fitzpatrick, ranked 19th and 20th respectively in the World Golf Rankings.
The trio will begin Thursday’s proceedings on the 10th tee at 11 a.m. before starting Friday’s round on the 1st tee at noon. Unlike last week, Finau will not be in a featured group this week.

Following the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational comes the first major of the year, The PGA Championship, scheduled to take place at TPC Harding Park in San Fransisco, California.
More Caddie Changes?
As reported earlier this week, Finau was expected to have his brother, Gipper Finau, carry the bag for him at St. Jude. However, Golf Channel has reported that Finau will instead go with long-time PGA Tour caddie Mark Urbanek to carry the bag this week.
Despite the chaos surrounding Finau’s caddie, he insists that he is in no rush to make a final decision on a long time caddie. Rather, “he plans to take his time finding a new caddie and won’t make a final decision regarding a full-time caddie this week.”
