SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pac-12 Network has been airing classic football games.

Over the last three months, the network was airing “Campus Classics” where they highlighted one school for a few hours, airing the best football games.

Now, the Pac-12 Networks is replaying the best games from the 1990s.

They have one game on the schedule of a Utah football game from the 1990s. The network will air Utah’s game against Stanford in 1996. Back then, Utah was in the Western Athletic Conference. The Utes went to Palo Alto, California and knocked off the Cardinal on September 7, 1996. Utah improved to 1-1 on the season with a 17-10 victory.

The Utes finished the 1996 season with an 8-4 record after losing to Wisconsin in the Copper Bowl. As the starting quarterback, Mike Fouts threw for 2,526 yards, 21 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Chris Fuamatu-Ma’afala led the Utes with 982 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns. Juan Johnson added 709 yards on the ground and found the end zone 9 times, 8 rushing and one receiving.

The 1996 contest against Stanford can be seen on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. MT on the Pac-12 Network.
