ORLANDO, Fla. – Real Salt Lake forward Douglas Martinez scored his first career goal in Major League Soccer action.
It was a critical goal in the 22nd minute to tie the match at one goal apiece against the San Jose Earthquakes in the Round of 16 of the MLS is Back Tournament.
Martinez scored seconds after San Jose scored the first goal of the match when Cristian Espinoza scored in the 21st minute. The young RSL forward found the ball after the restart when he received a well played ball from Corey Baird. That left Martinez alone with the San Jose keeper as he chipped the ball over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
