Devin Lloyd
Lloyd is one of 13 players in the Pac-12 to be named to the Wuerffel Trophy watch list.
After using his redshirt as a freshman in 2017, Lloyd played in all 14 games on special teams and three games on defense. The coaches were very high on Lloyd going into the 2019 season and was likely going to be a backup to Francis Bernard and Manny Bowen. During the first day of fall camp leading up to the 2019 season, Bowen decided to leave the team and stop playing football.
The Chula Vista, California native was inserted into the starting lineup following the news and thrived. He led Utah with 91 tackles while also racking up 6.5 sacks and 11 tackles for loss. Lloyd also returned an interception for a 64-yard touchdown against Oregon State. He was named a All-Pac-12 honorable mention.
Lloyd has also received some preseason recognition from national outlets. He has been named to Phil Steele’s preseason All-Pac-12 second team and the third team by Pick Six Previews.
Bracken El-Bakri
El-Bakri has participated in may activities in the community. He has helped with BYU’s Cougar Strong and True Blue Hero programs as well as helping with special needs children.
Entering his senior year, El-Bakri has started in 18 of the 30 games he has played. The Cottonwood Heights, Utah native has 61 tackles, 31 solo tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack and a forced fumble.
Justus Te’i
Te’i is one of seven players in the Mountain West Conference named to the Wuerffel Trophy watch list. He started all 13 games last season for the Aggies and finished the season ranked seventh on the team with 51 tackles, while also racking up 5.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
During his time at Utah State, the senior has 117 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 3 sacks in 41 games played. Also, Te’i has five fumble recoveries, five pass breakups and two forced fumbles.
