Utah State Football Picked To Finish Fourth In MWC Mountain Division Preseason Poll

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State football has been picked to finish fourth in the Mountain Division in the Mountain West Conference preseason poll.
The league office announced the poll results on Tuesday afternoon.
Boise State was picked to win the division and received the most first place votes in the entire conference. The Broncos received 125 points and 20 first place votes.
Wyoming came in at No. 2 with 90 points and one first place vote. Just ahead of the Aggies at No. 3 in the Mountain Division is Air Force with 86 votes. Utah State picked up 60 votes.
Rounding out the Mountain Division is Colorado State at No. 5 with 59 votes and New Mexico in sixth with 21 points.

In the West Division, San Diego State was picked to win the division with 122 points and 19 first place votes. Nevada is at No. 2 with 100 points, Hawai’i is third with 74 points, Fresno State at No. 4 with 73 points, San Jose State is fifth with 43 points and UNLV is sixth with 29 points.
The Aggies return 13 starters from last season, 8 on offense and 5 defense. Utah State lost starting quarterback Jordan Love to an early entry in the NFL Draft along with 2019 starting running back Gerold Bright.
Utah State also lost quarterback Henry Colombi to the transfer portal but signed former Utah QB Jason Shelley and it is reported that former Utes running back Devonta’e Henry-Cole will also join the Aggies.
Utah State was scheduled to open the 2020 season against Washington State at home but after the Pac-12 announcement of going to a conference-only schedule, that game and their game against Washington was canceled.
As of now, the Aggies will open the 2020 season at home against Southern Utah on Saturday, September 12.
