Transferring Arizona Wildcats Linebacker Tony Fields II Says He’s Received Offer From Utah Football

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Arizona Wildcats linebacker Tony Fields II, who previously announced that he was transferred, said that he’s received an offer to play for the University of Utah football team.
Fields tweeted about the Utes’ offer on Saturday, July 18.

Fields announced that he was leaving the Wildcats on July 16.
“Being a wildcat has been an honor as well as one of the best experiences of my life. I have grown in so many facets due to my tenure here,” Fields posted. “Being a three year starter on a power five team is a great blessing and accomplishment that comes with many responsibilities… Although, I will greatly miss the atmosphere at U of A, I feel it’s time that I move on to continue my football career. In conclusion, I will be entering the transfer portal as a graduate transfer.”

During his three seasons as a starter at Arizona, the Las Vegas native played in 37 games. Fields owns career stats of 287 total tackles, 181 solo tackles, 17.0 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, 6 pass breakups, and a forced fumble.
After his first season with the Wildcats in 2017, Fields was named Freshman All-American by ESPN and 247Sports.
He has one year of collegiate eligibility remaining.
