SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake defender Justen Glad has been awarded for his efforts against Colorado Rapids by being named as a starting center-back in the MLS Team Of The Week.
Glad helped RSL to its first victory in the MLS Is Back tournament beating arch-rivals Colorado Rapids 2-0 on Sunday, July 12.

A first-half goal from Albert Rusnak put the Claret and Cobalt ahead midway through the first half. The lead doubled in the second half when Rusnak’s midfield counterpart Damir Kreilach found the bottom left-hand corner from 20 yards out in the 76th minute.
Glad was instrumental in assuring RSL kept a clean sheet. Despite attempts from the Rapids late in the game, the RSL backline, headlined by Glad, was able to hang on and secure the three points.
Throughout the contest, Glad frequently started the attacking ball movement from his center-back position unafraid to catapult RSL forward displaying an impressive passing display.
Rapids striker and long time MLS goalscoring machine, Kei Kamara, was absent much due to the work of Glad and his fellow defenders.

Real Salt Lake will next play Minnesota United on Friday, July 17 at 8:30 p.m. in what will likely be a game that decides the top team from Group D. Minnesota scored two stoppage-time goals to come from behind and beat Sporting Kansas City in their first MLS Is Back fixture.
RSL tops the Group D standings on goal difference despite both RSL and Minnesota being tied on three points.
