The match will be the second time that the Royals and Dash have met during the Challenge Cup. The first encounter ended in a 3-3 tie after two late Royals’ goals at the death helped secure the hosts a point during their first game of the tournament.
The other quarterfinals consist of the Portland Thorns taking on reigning two-time NWSL Champions North Carolina Courage, Sky Blue FC versus Washington Spirit and Chicago Red Stars against OL Reign.
The Royals currently sit in fifth place in the Challenge Cup standings with one win, one draw and two losses. Every team is currently chasing North Carolina Courage who has mustered four wins from their four games.
