PROVO, Utah – The 2020 edition of BYU football Media Day has been postponed once again until further notice.
Media Day was set to take place on July 20th and was going to be held in a virtual format due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This news comes on the heels of the Big Ten and Pac-12 moving to conference-only schedules. From those announcements, BYU lost five games from its 2020 schedule. The next scheduled BYU football game is on October 2nd against Utah State.

This is the second postponement of BYU Football Media Day in 2020. Originally scheduled for June 18th, now there’s no set date for the annual event.
Along with Media Day being postponed, BYU’s start date for beginning the NCAA-approved two-week period of 20 hours of countable athletically related activities with coaches has been delayed as well. The football team was set to start on July 21st, but now that’s impacted with the first scheduled game, not till October.
BYU players will continue to be allowed to conduct voluntary workouts on campus. The workouts have been taking place since June 1st.
Right now the 2020 college football season is up in the air this fall. The Big Ten and Pac-12 since making their decisions to move to Conference-Only schedules have not ruled out the possibility of moving the season to the spring.
BYU Media Day history
BYU began holding its own football Media Day in 2011 which coincided with the Cougars’ first year as an FBS Independent. 2020 was set to be the 10th edition of the annual gathering of local and national media covering BYU football.
