ORLANDO, Florida – Damir Kreilach ripped a shot from just outside the 18-yard box, beating Colorado Rapids goalkeeper Clint Irwin and giving Real Salt Lake a 2-0 lead Sunday night.
The goal was timely for RSL, as the team had struggled to maintain possession in the second half, after taking a 1-0 lead into the halftime locker room.

The goal sequence started with a tackle from Corey Baird, who dispossessed Nicolas Benezet deep in the Rapids’ defensive third. Baird laid the ball off to Kreilach, whose first touch was a scorching shot that beat Clint Irwin to his right and found the corner of the net.
In addition, Rapids’ head coach and former RSL assistant Robin Fraser was being interviewed on the ESPN broadcast when the goal was scored.
The goal marked the third for Real Salt Lake during the 2020 season dating back to the team’s first against the New York Red Bulls on March 7th.
