SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah State head coach Gary Andersen announced the hiring of Roc Bellantoni as the Aggies’ special teams coordinator and tight ends coach.

Bellantoni joins the Aggies’ football program after most recently serving as interim defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Washington State.

This will be Bellantoni’s first time as a tight ends coach. Bellantoni will take over for USU co-defensive coordinator Frank Maile, who previously coached tight ends.

Bellantoni will serve as an assistant coach on the offensive side of the ball under Utah State offensive coordinator Bodie Reeder. Andersen hired Reeder as the Aggies’ OC in January.

Over his 27-year coaching career, he has coached defensive line and linebackers, as well as serving in the role of defensive and special teams coordinator multiple times.

Bellantoni has helped 16 players reach professional football careers, including three NFL Draft selections.

In each of the last two seasons, Bellantoni helped coach teams to bowl appearances.
