NCAA Approves Football Preseason Practice Plan

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The NCAA Division I Council approved a six-week preseason practice plan for football programs across the country.
News of the NCAA’s approval arrived on Wednesday, June 17.
The news of the Council’s approval came less than a week after the NCAA Football Oversight Committee approved the six-week preseason practice plan.
With the Council’s approval, programs will be allowed to begin summer activities with access to players starting on July 13.

Additionally, if teams play during Week 0, they will be able to begin the preseason plan one week earlier.
On July 13, student-athletes will be allowed to participate in strength workouts and film study with coaches.
Meetings and walk-throughs for football teams can start on July 24.
Preseason practice will commence on August 7.
