SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Utah defensive end and all-time sack leader Bradlee Anae was listed among the biggest steals in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Anae was taken in the fifth round with the 179th overall pick by the Dallas Cowboys.

Draftwire which is a part of USA Today released a list of each NFL team’s biggest steal from the 2020 NFL Draft. Anae was listed as the Cowboys’ biggest steal.

Anae was projected to go in the third or fourth round but surprisingly dropped to the end of the fifth round. The Cowboys snatched him late in the round and filled a need for a team that could contend for a Super Bowl.

Last season in 2019 as a senior, Anae exploded for 13 sacks and 14 tackles for loss which led to being named an All-American and first team All-Pac-12. Anae broke the school record for most career sacks with 30. He also won the Morris Trophy.

Other Pac-12 Draft Steals

Anae was among 5 players from the Pac-12 to be listed as a draft steal. He joined former Cal safety Jaylinn Hawkins who was a fourth round pick by the Atlanta Falcons.

USA Today listed former Oregon State wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins as the Buffalo Bills’ biggest steal when he was selected in the sixth round. The Cleveland Browns’ were able to snatch former Washington offensive lineman Nick Harris in the fifth round.

The biggest draft steal for the New York Giants was getting former Oregon offensive lineman Shane Lemieux in the fifth round.
