66 Utah Student-Athletes Named To Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – University of Utah student-athletes had a great spring semester in the classroom.
66 student-athletes from spring sports were placed on the Pac-12 Conference’s Spring Academic Honor Roll. Throughout the 2019-20 academic year, 149 student-athletes were named to a Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll.
This includes student-athletes who participated in baseball, beach volleyball, golf, softball, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, and track & field.

Track & Field
The track & field team had 27 honorees including Caitlin Faust, Sarah Feeny, Nicole Griffiths, Trina Moreno, Sarah Newton and Poppy Tank who became three-time all-academic selections. Emma Christensen, Regan Crofts, Whitney Hessler, Astrid Lindgren, Ruby Jane Mathewson, Bella Williams and Cara Woolnough were chosen for a second time. Meanwhile, newcomers Aubrey Argyle, Skyler Blair, Anna Busatto, Emma Earl, Brooklyn James, Maya LeBar, Sara Leonard, Brooke Manson, Lauren O’Banion, Natalie Platil, Kennedy Powell, Sophie Ryan, Kolbi Sims and Taylor Watson were named to the Honor Roll.
Women’s Tennis
The Utah women’s tennis led the Pac-12 with seven selections including three-time honoree Whitney Hekking. Six of the seven were newcomers which includes Emily Dush, Lindsay Hung, Anya Lamoreaux, Madeline Lamoreaux, Jasmine Rich and Madison Tattini.
Baseball
The baseball team picked up 10 honorees with Brett Brocoff and Rykker Tom earning honors for the second time. Nick Caviglia, Jake Dahle, Braden DeBenedictis, Justin Kelly, Ian MacIver, Dustyn Schramm, Tyler Thompson and Trevor Wells made it on the Honor Roll for the first time.
Softball
Of the eight softball honorees, Alyssa Barrera earned Academic Honor Roll for the third time in her career. BreOnna Castaneda, Katie Faulk and Julia Noskin made it for the second time while Ellessa Bonstrom, Haley Denning, Claire Feldman and Jordyn Gasper are first-time honorees.
Beach Volleyball
Five players from the beach volleyball team made the Honor Roll with Kenzie Koerber and Olivia Teerlink selected for a second time. Mckenna Granato, Tiyana Hallums and Jessica Villela are first time honorees.
Men’s Tennis
Five men’s tennis players were selected with Slava Shainyan earning his third Honor Roll. Russell Benkaim and Azat Hankuliyev were picked for a second time while Mathias Gavelin and Paul McCallie earned their first Honor Roll selection.
Golf
All four golf student-athletes received their first Academic Honor Roll selection which included Axel Einarsson, Peyton Hastings, Oscar Maxfield and Colton Tanner.
