SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Longtime radio host and familiar Salt Lake City voice, Gina Barberi, shares her love for family and sport on the latest episode of The Hallowed Grounds.
Remarkably, Barberi joined Radio From Hell, in 1994 and has been alongside Kerry Jackson and Bill Allred ever since. In September of this year, the trio was planning a special event with their loyal listeners to celebrate their 7,500th episode. However, due to the unfortunate circumstances that the coronavirus has caused, the original plans seem unlikely to transpire.
Barberi is known to love her Utes, she was a graduate from the University of Utah and proudly represents her school on the radio and in her personal life.

“I have to say watching the Draft (NFL), just hearing that crowd in the background coming from the T.V., you know that sound? I didn’t realize how much I just missed that sound,” Barberi said. “Even just the little clips that they were showing of people and explaining who was being drafted next. Like, that is as much football as we have had, it was nice!”
Radio Names
Furthermore, Barberi explained that over all of the years that she has been behind a microphone, she has given her children “radio names”. She mentioned that her children did not sign up for fame, hence, why she decided to give them some privacy. Muhummad, Jonesy and Festus continue to hold a strong radio presence on her show, they have also embraced their new names, despite being occasionally teased by their friends at school.

After a little discussion, Barberi and I came to the conclusion that my three-month-old firstborn boy will now go by “Bubbles” from here on out.
