SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced during the 2020 NFL Draft that the city of Las Vegas will host the 2022 Draft.
Las Vegas was scheduled to host the 2020 NFL Draft but it was moved to a virtual draft because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Goodell was announcing draft selections in the basement of his New York home on Thursday when he told the viewers that Las Vegas would get another shot at hosting the NFL Draft.
Originally, Goodell made a mistake in the announcement and said that Las Vegas would host the 2020 NFL Draft and also mentioned Dallas somewhere in that announcement but the NFL did say that the 2022 Draft will be held in Las Vegas.
In January, the NFL showed the layout of what the draft would look like in Las Vegas.

They were going to have the draft on the Strip across from Caesars Palace and in front of the Bellagio hotel. The main stage for the draft was scheduled to be constructed on April 3 next to Caesars Forum. It was going to include a viewing zone in front of the High Roller observation wheel to watch the first-round selections on Thursday night, the second and third rounds on Friday night and the remaining four rounds on Saturday.
The 2021 NFL Draft will take place in Cleveland, Ohio.
