SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The 2020 NFL Draft is here, finally, and the state of Utah will once again be highly represented.
Former Utah State quarterback Jordan Love is expected to be the first local taken off the board, with former Utah cornerback Jaylon Johnson’s name being called shortly after Love’s.
However, then it will likely get interesting.
There are a number of NFL hopefuls that could have their name called from the second round onwards, with the majority of those prospects coming out of the University of Utah.
Former Utah running-back Zack Moss is one of them.
Pro Football Focus (PFF) is a national website that focuses on “thorough analysis of the National Football League and NCAA Division-1 football,” they have a popular following and are scarily accurate when it comes to giving NFL prospects draft grades.
They have just released their final 2020 NFL Draft running back ratings and predict that Moss is the second-best tailback in the draft class, only behind D’Andre Swift from Georgia who many predict to be a potential first-round pick.
PFF's Final NFL Draft RB Rankings:
1. D'Andre Swift, Georgia
2. Zack Moss, Utah
3. Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin
4. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, LSU
5. J.K. Dobbins, Ohio State pic.twitter.com/Q0XEqc0ysE— PFF Draft (@PFF_College) April 22, 2020
Moss, who rushed for 15 touchdowns, 1,416 yards on 235 attempts during his 2019 season is listed above Jonathan Taylor, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and J.K. Dobbins.
Taylor finished his career with Wisconsin after totaling 6,174 yards in just three seasons. He was frequently touted as a potential Heisman Trophy winner and was constantly in the conversation as best running-back in the country.
Edwards-Helaire played a big role in securing LSU’s fourth National Championship during 2019 as the junior tailback ran for 1,414 and 16 touchdowns.
J.K. Dobbins is no slouch either, the junior ran for 2,003 yards in 2019 for the Ohio State Buckeyes, averaging 6.7 yards per carry.
Of the five running-backs on PFF’s list, Moss is the only senior. The other four backs are entering the NFL Draft as juniors.
Moss has garnished interest from a number of NFL teams including the Las Vegas Raider, Kansas City Chiefs, the Dallas Cowboys among others.
