SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Utes head football coach Kyle Whittingham said that he has received calls from NFL teams regarding quarterback Tyler Huntley.
Whittingham spoke to the media on Tuesday via Zoom to discuss his players that are going into the NFL Draft which will take place from April 23-25.
“All it takes is one team to really like you,” Whittingham said. “If you have one team that really likes you then that’s all that matters.”
Whittingham said that he has talked to NFL teams who have inquired about Huntley.
“I have had a lot scouts and upper management people call me about Tyler and expressed interest,” Whittingham stated. “He has been working hard and has put on even more weight. I haven’t seen him in person in a few months but tells me he looks great and has done everything he possibly can to get himself ready. He is hungry, he wants to play in that league and is doing everything possible to make that happen.”

No Pro Day Or Combine
Huntley was snubbed by the NFL when they sent out their invites to the Scouting Combine as they left the Utah quarterback off of the list of players to receive invitations. On top of that, Utah’s pro day was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Huntley was forced to hold his own pro day.
“It’s unfortunate that we didn’t have a chance to have a pro day for those guys that didn’t go to the Combine,” Whittingham said. “It was a big disappointment for Tyler to not showcase his skills here.”
