Salty 16: Semifinals: Who Has The Best Fries In Utah?

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – If the world were perfect, we would be in the midst of college basketball’s March Madness right now, but we aren’t after the tournament was canceled for coronavirus prevention.

To fill your bracket needs, KSL Sports came up with the “Salty 16” as a way to determine the best fries in the state of Utah.

We only included local restaurants, so you won’t find the likes of McDonald’s or In-N-Out Burger on our list.

Through the rest of March, we will use Twitter polls (make sure you follow us) to allow our followers to vote on the winners of each round.

First Round:

Thursday, March 19^th
- 1 v. 16, 2 v. 15
Friday, March 20^th
- 3 v. 14, 4 v. 13
Saturday, March 21^st
- 5 v. 12, 6 v. 11
Sunday, March 22^nd
- 7 v. 10, 8 v. 9

Quarterfinals: (one matchup/day)

Tuesday, March 24^th

Quarterfinals Results

Following the quarterfinals, four local restaurants moved on thanks to their delicious fries. Moving on we have:

Dairy Keen
Lucky 13

The final four restaurants all reached the Semifinals with overwhelming victories their Quarterfinals matchups.

First Round Results

Following the first round, eight local restaurants moved on thanks to their delicious fries. Moving on we have:

Spitz
Hires Big H
JCW’s
Dairy Keen
Bruges Waffles & Frites
Pretty Bird
Lucky 13
Millie’s Burger

Spitz and Hires Big H won their matchups by a landslide, as did Lucky 13. There was a tie between Millie’s Burger and Arctic Circle, the KSL Sports team voted to break the tie and Millie’s Burger of Sugar House won.
