Christen Press’ Chip Helps USWNT To SheBelieves Cup Championship

FRISCO, Texas – Utah Royals FC and United States Women’s National Team forward Christen Press scored a goal to help the USA beat Japan and win the SheBelieves Cup Championship.
Press and the rest of the USWNT played Japan at Toyota Stadium on March 11.
The Royals FC forward connected on a chip kick during the 26th minute to extend the USWNT’s lead to 2-0 over Japan.

The United States took a 1-0 lead on a Megan Rapinoe goal during the 7th minutes before Press stretched the advantage.
After a 58th minute goal by Japan, Lindsey Horan clinched the Cup for the USWNT with a goal in the 83rd minute to push the scoreboard to 3-1 United States.

Press finished the SheBelieves Cup with 2 goals and an assist.

The United State previously beat Japan 5-2 to win the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
