Utes G Plummer Ties Pac-12 Tournament Record With 8 Threes

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Utah Utes guard Alfonso Plummer had a tremendous first half in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament against Oregon State.
Plummer tied his career-high 23 points in the first 20 minutes of play and knocked down 7 three pointers in 10 attempts.
The first points scored by the Utes came from Plummer by hitting his eighth three of the game, which ties a Pac-12 Tournament record with Klay Thompson.
The junior college transfer made his second career start with the Utes at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

His first three-pointer came in the first three minutes of the game to tie the game at 6. The second triple by Plummer was made with 12:50 remaining in the first half to put Utah within four points.
Plummer’s third triple came with 8:29 left to tie the game at 17. He then made his fourth three-pointer with 7 minutes left in the half to tie the game at 20.
The Utah junior guard’s fifth three gave the Utes a 29-28 lead with 3:35 left until halftime.
The sixth three by Plummer was hit with under two minutes to put Utah up by six points. His last three in the first half came with 1:20 left in the first half to put the Utes up by seven.

Plummer’s first game of 23 points was in their overtime loss to California two weeks ago.
