Utah Utes Guard Both Gach Named Pac-12 Player Of The Week

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Utes sophomore guard Both Gach was named Pac-12 Player of the Week after a career-best performance in their 74-72 win over Colorado in their regular season finale.
It’s the first weekly award of Gach’s career and the third Player of the Week honor for the Utes.
Gach broke out of his shooting slump last week against Cal but topped that performance with a career-high 28 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field and 2-of-6 from the three-point line. He also had five rebounds, four assists and two steals in the win.
The Austin, Minnesota native had a 16 of Utah’s 33 first half points against Colorado and also scored 5 of their 10 points in overtime including the game-winning free throws with 0.6 remaining in the extra period.
Gach is averaging 11 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 40 percent from the floor and 25 percent from beyond the arc in 26 games.

Utah received the No. 9 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament which will begin on Wednesday against No. 8 Oregon State. Tip-off from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada will be at 1 p.m. and will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
