Dixie State Basketball Qualifies For NCAA Division II Tournament

ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Dixie State men’s basketball team earned a spot in the NCAA Division II Tournament for the ninth time in program history.
The No. 23 ranked Trailblazers were announced among the NCAA’s 64-team field on Sunday, March 8.
Dixie State was slotted as a No. 3 seed in the South Central Region of the tournament. This is the Trailblazers last season as a member of Division II.
“This is great. This was something we set our minds to do this year and we wanted to go out of Division II with a bang,” said Dixie State head coach Jon Judkins.

The Trailblazers will play against the No. 6 seed Colorado School of Mines. The Mines finished the season with a 22-10 record. Colorado School of Mines defeated Dixie State 80-79 on January 2.

Dixie State finished the regulars season with its first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship. The Trailblazers earned the championship tied with a school-record 23 wins.
This is the seventh conference title in program history. Dixie State won six conference championships as a member of the Pacific West Conference.
The start time for Dixie State’s tourney game is TBD and will be announced on Monday, March 9.
