LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Utah State star senior guard Sam Merrill kept his outstanding tournament play going with a big three-pointer from well beyond the arc in the second half of the Mountain West Tournament Championship game against San Diego State.
It was Merrill’s fifth three-pointer in 11 attempts and that game the Aggies their first lead of the second half.
Merrill has kept the Aggies in the game after scoring 10 points in the first 20 minutes of the game. He helped the Aggies end the first half on a 10-2 run by scoring 7 of those 10 points.
