SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Two pranksters from Highland, Utah shared a video of them sneaking into Vivint Smart Home Arena for a Utah Jazz game.
The 19-year-old, Lone Peak grads pulled off the prank by dressing up as delivery men for Reddy Ice.
“A wise man once said, it’s so stupid it just might work,” Cory Winn, one of the pranksters, said to introduce the stunt.
The men were able to sneak into the Utah Jazz game against the Houston Rockets on February 22. (The Jazz ended up losing that game)

Winn told KSL Sports he came up with the plan for the prank after he watched the movie, “Catch Me If You Can.”
“I realized that you can get pretty dang far in society as long as you have some blind confidence,” Winn said.
How To: Sneak Into Utah Jazz Game & Get Banned
In the video, Winn and his friend Damen Mummert, revealed the methods to their plan. They scouted the location by determining the best entrance would be one with the fewest security guards and closest to where their car would be parked.
“We spent about three weeks working out the kinks and collecting all the assets to complete the project,” Winn told KSL Sports.
Next, they made themselves into fake ice delivery men. They made hats with slightly modified Reddy Ice logos and dressed like traditional looking delivery people.
“The funniest part of this whole scheme is that the occupation of an ice delivery man has been nearly eradicated… if you think about it the term ice delivery man is kind of silly,” said Winn in the video.
The plan worked to get the duo into the arena. Once they were in, they “got bored” and decided to see how far they could take the prank.
They were able to sneak onto the Utah Jazz court and partway through a tunnel before arena employees started to catch on.
In order to get onto the court, they told employees that concessions sent them and as they made their way into a tunnel they told employees they were bringing the ice down for “halftime.”
When someone catches on and starts to question them, the two are escorted out of the arena. According to the video, the man who escorted them out of the arena found them again but this time with security guards and Salt Lake Police officers.
“Shout of to Salt Lake Police, they were actually pretty nice … they wouldn’t take a picture with us though,” the boys said at the end of the video.
According to the pranksters, they are banned from Vivint Smart Home Arena and Smith’s Ballpark for 30 years.
The video posted by Winn has since been deleted.
“The safety and security of our guests and employees are a priority for us. An unauthorized entry recently occurred, and the individuals were identified and escorted from the arena. The individuals have been banned from all future events at the arena, and we are working with law enforcement,” said Frank Zang, spokesperson for Vivint Smart Home Arena.
