Visentin’s Double-Double Leads Springville To 5A Championship Over Timpview

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Springville’s Zach Visentin recorded a double-double to led the Red Devils to the 5A state championship over the Timpview Thunderbirds.
The Red Devils played the T-Birds in the 5A title game at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City on Saturday, February 29.
Visentin posted a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Springville to a 66-53 win and the state championship.

Springville’s Cooper Riggs and Paul Terry combined for 25 points to help Visentin in the Red Devils’ victory. Riggs had 13 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and a steal in the win. Terry added 12 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3 steals for the Red Devils.
The Red Devils shot 43.2 percent for the game compared to 31.3 percent by the Thunderbirds.
Timpview was led by Jake Wahlin’s 15 points and 11 rebounds. The T-Birds’ second-leading scorer was Coleman Ford. Ford scored 12 points while adding 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal in the 13 point loss.
Last season, the Thunderbirds fell to Timpanogos in the first round of the UHSAA tournament.
