After Tying Late, SUU’s Second-Half Rally Falls Short Against Northern Colorado

GREELEY, Colo. – The Southern Utah men’s basketball team rallied to tie the late game before ultimately falling short of a second half comeback against the Northern Colorado Bears.
The Thunderbirds fell 68-66 to the Bears at Bank of Colorado Arena on Thursday, February 20.
After trailing 37-23 at halftime, the T-Birds rallied in the second half and tied the Bears at 64 apiece with 38 seconds left to play.

Northern Colorado’s Bodie Hume hit a dagger three-pointer with six seconds remaining to put the Bears on top for good.
Tough T-Birds
Despite getting outscored by 14 points during the first 20 minutes of the game, SUU fought back to win the second half total 43-31.
The Thunderbirds shot 45.8 percent for the game including 30.0 percent from three.
John Knight III led Southern Utah with 23 points on 10-20 field goals and 3-6 from the foul stripe. He added 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal in the loss.
Andre Adams added 13 points on 6-9 shooting.

Bears Breakdown
Northern Colorado was carried to victory by three players who scored in double figures.
Bears guard Jonah Radebaugh scored 19 points. Hume added 16 points while Kai Edwards poured in 15 off the bench.
Northern Colorado finished the game shooting 48.1 percent overall including 34.6 percent from deep.
The win moved the Bears to 18-8 on the season and 11-4 in Big Sky Conference play. Northern Colorado also took the season series over SUU 2-0.
