BYU’s Home Football Game Against Houston Moved To Friday Night
PROVO, Utah – The battle of the Cougars on the gridiron is moving from Saturday to a nationally-televised Friday night tilt. BYU will host the University of Houston at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Friday, October 16th. The game will air on either ESPN or ESPN2.
This is the first game of a two-game series between BYU and Houston. BYU leads the all-time series against Houston 2-0. The last time BYU hosted Houston in Provo was in 2014 on another weeknight game that was televised by ESPN.
BYU now has three games on the 2020 schedule that are on weeknights. Utah on Thursday, September 3rd at Rice-Eccles Stadium, Utah State on Friday, October 2nd in Provo, and Houston on Thursday, October 16th.
Last season, Houston finished 4-8 in the first year under head coach Dana Holgorsen. The Coogs lost their former starting quarterback in D’Eriq King who transferred to the University of Miami last month as a graduate transfer. BYU comes into the 2020 season off a 7-6 record for the second consecutive season.
