Southern Utah Loses Grip On First Half Lead, Falls By Double-Digits To NAU

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Southern Utah Thunderbirds failed to maintain a halftime lead in the second half and fell to the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks by double-digits.
The T-Birds held a 35-34 advantage over the Lumberjacks at the break of the game on Saturday, February 15.
In the second half, Northern Arizona outscored Southern Utah 48-34 to win the game by 13 points. The Lumberjacks were led to an 82-69 victory with two players scoring more than 20 points.

Cameron Shelton scored 26 points to lead NAU while Brooks DeBisschop added 21 of his own.
NAU finished the game shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 27.8 percent from three.
Southern Utah shot 48.9 percent for the game including a dismal 17.6 percent from behind the arc.
The Thunderbirds were led by Andre Adams’ 20 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 blocks.
SUU fell to 14-11 on the season and 7-7 in Big Sky Conference games. The Lumberjacks improved to 14-10 overall and 8-7 in conference play.

The T-Birds next game is against the Northern Colorado Bears on Thursday, February 20 at 7 p.m. (MDT).
