With the ball on the Vipers’ 12-yard line, the former BYU wideout began his route, broke off the Tampa Bay defensive back, and ran into the end zone wide open for an easy New York touchdown.

The Guardians took a 14-0 lead over the Vipers with Pearson’s TD.

New York went on to win their inaugural game 23-3 over Tampa Bay.

Pearson finished the game with 2 receptions on 4 targets for 44 yards and the score.

During the XFL’s draft in 2019, the former BYU receiver was selected by the New York Guardians.
