Utah State Eyes Revenge In Second Meeting Of Season Against Boise State

LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State men’s basketball team looks to exact revenge against the Boise State Broncos in the second meeting of the season between the two teams after the Aggies fell in the first matchup of the 2019-20 season.
Utah State hosts Boise State at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum on Friday, February 7.
The Aggies and Broncos’ first meeting of the season was played at ExtraMile Arena in Boise on January 18.

First Meeting
Utah State held a 66-48 lead over the Broncos with 4:10 left to play before allowing Boise State to close out regulation on a 27-9 run to force overtime. The Broncos took their first lead of the game 1:23 into the extra period before claiming an 88-83 victory.
Aggies guard Sam Merrill led USU with a season-high 30 points on 9-19 shooting including 4-11 from downtown.
Next Five Games
Since the loss, Utah State has won four of its last five games and its only loss coming to an undefeated No. 4 ranked San Diego State team on the road.
During the Aggies’ five-game stretch, they are outscoring opponents by an average of 70.8 points to 57.4.

Second Meeting
Boise State enters the game with a 16-8 overall record including 8-4 in Mountain West Conference games.
Utah State owns an 18-7 record and sits at 7-5 in conference play.
Saturday’s game will be the 50th meeting between USU and BSU. The Aggies lead the all-time series 33-16 including 19-3 at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
Utah State will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the arena during the game.
The Broncos vs. Aggies game is scheduled to tip-off on Saturday, February 8 at 8 p.m. (MDT). The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
