Southern Utah Struggles From Distance, Fall To Northern Colorado

CEDAR CITY, Utah – The Southern Utah men’s basketball team struggled to shoot efficiently on three-pointers and fell by eight points to the Northern Colorado Bears.
The Thunderbirds hosted the Bears at America First Events Center on Thursday, February 6.
Southern Utah shot 41.7 percent from the field but only 14.3 percent from behind the arc. The T-Birds connected on 2-14 attempts from deep against the Bears.
Northern Colorado defeated SUU 68-60.

Only two Thunderbirds scored in double figures in the loss.
John Knight III led SUU with 18 points off the bench.

Andre Adams carried the T-Birds’ starting lineup with 14 points.

Northern Colorado shot 47.1 percent overall and 40.0 percent from downtown.
Five Bears scored in double figures in the game.
Despite coming off the bench, Kai Edwards carried the Bears with 17 points.

Northern Colorado improved to 15-7 on the season and 8-3 in Big Sky Conference play.
The Thunderbirds fell to 13-9 overall and 6-5 in Big Sky games.
Southern Utah is back in action against the Portland State Vikings on Saturday, February 8 at 2 p.m. (MDT). The Thunderbirds defeated the Vikings 83-81 in the first meeting of the season on December 30, 2019.
