SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake has signed talented and experienced forward Justin Meram just weeks prior to the 2020 MLS season.
Meram, 31, who is entering his ninth MLS season, has appeared in 243 games for 4 clubs since his debut in 2011. Over the 243 game span, he has scored 46 MLS goals.
From 2011 to 2017, Meram burst onto the scene with the Colombus Crew SC, notching 188 games and scoring 40 goals for The Crew.

“Justin is a versatile, accomplished attacking player in our league,” Real Salt Lake General Manager Elliot Fall said. “He has proven year after year to be productive in multiple roles and that experience will provide excellent value to our young roster.”
Despite being born in Shelby Charter Township, Michigan, Meram chose to represent Iraq on the national level. Both of his parents were born and raised in Iraq. He has played 33 games, scoring 4 goals, for Iraq on the international scene.
Meram adds much-needed experience and depth to RSL’s roster. He has played on both the left and right-wing, while also having spent time playing the number nine position as well. Whether Meram finds himself coming off the bench or a part of the starting XI, Meram is sure to give RSL a boost in their hope to climb the Western Conference in 2020.
