Queta, Merrill Lead Aggies’ Dominating Second Half In Win Over UNLV

LOGAN, Utah – Neemias Queta and Sam Merrill led the Utah State Aggies to a dominating second half performance to beat the UNLV Rebels.
The Aggies hosted the Rebels at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum on Wednesday, February 5.
Queta and Merrill combined for 41 points and led Utah State in carrying out a 42-25 second half. The Aggies won the game 69-54 for their 18th victory of the season.

Utah State shot 50 percent overall and 37.5 percent from behind the arc.
Queta led the Aggies with 21 points on 8-11 field goals. He added 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks in 36 minutes.

Merrill scored 20 points on 5-14 shooting including 2-8 from downtown. He went 8-10 from the free-throw line. Merrill recorded 2 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 assists in 39 minutes.

Diogo Brito led Utah State’s second unit with 9 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

The Rebels were carried Bryce Hamilton’s 15 points on 6-16 shooting.
UNLV shot 38.5 percent overall and 26.7 percent from three.
The Rebels fell to 11-13 on the season and 6-5 in the Mountain West.
Utah State improved to 18-7 overall and 7-5 in conference games.
