SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah gymnastics team has moved up to No. 3 in the country in the USA Collegiate Gymnastics Rankings.
The Red Rocks are off to a 6-0 start this season, including a 2-0 record in Pac-12 competition. They recently beat then-No. 21 Arizona in Tuscon 197.300-195.975.
“Today was our first road test and I thought we narrowed the gap between what we see in practice and what we see in actual competition,” said Utah head coach Tom Farden after the Arizona meet. “We started nicely on bars, vault was good, and floor and beam were really strong to finish the meet. We still need to get better at landings and will work hard to improve this area. There are too many tenths being left on the floor from not sticking enough landings.”
The Utes sit behind No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 2 Florida in the rankings. Also, BYU is at No. 16 in the rankings.
