SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The BYU Cougars are starting to receive recognition from the voters in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
After BYU’s thrilling 81-79 win over St. Mary’s at the Marriott Center on Saturday night, the Cougars have received 14 votes by voters in the latest AP poll.
The Cougars picked up the win over St. Mary’s when guard T.J. Haws drilled a three-pointer in the final seconds along with a great defensive stop to lift BYU to their second straight win.
Haws finished with a team-high 23 points along with 5 rebounds. Yoeli Childs added 19 points as the duo was the only BYU players to reach double figures in scoring.
They improved their record to 17-7 overall and 6-3 in West Coast Conference play. BYU will next be in action on Thursday night when they hit the road to face Portland. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. and can be seen on Stadium and heard on KSL Newsradio.
