Clarkson Hits Buzzer Beater, Scores Eight Points In First Quarter Against Nuggets

DENVER, Colo. – Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson came off the bench to lead the Jazz in scoring during the first quarter including a buzzer-beating three-pointer against the Denver Nuggets.
The Jazz played the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center on Thursday, January 30.
Clarkson’s buzzer-beater from deep started when he received a pass at the top of the arc from Utah guard Donovan Mitchell. He then rose up and buried the shot as the 24-second shot clock expired to cut Denver’s opening quarter lead to 17-16 with 1:54 remaining in the first quarter.

Clarkson finished the opening 12 minutes of play with 8 points on 3-3 shooting including 2-2 from deep. He added 1 rebound to his first quarter stat line.
The Utah sixth man recorded a +3 plus-minus rating during his first 7 minutes on the court.
During the opening quarter of play, the Jazz shot 57.1 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from three-point land.
Denver shot 55.6 percent overall and 33.3 percent from downtown during the first 12 minutes of the game.
The Jazz led the Nuggets 23-21 as the two teams went to the bench at the close of the first quarter.
