TJ Washington Leads Utah Valley To Road Victory Over Grand Canyon

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Valley guard TJ Washington led the Wolverines to a solid road victory over the Grand Canyon Antelopes.
Washington and the Wolverines defeated the Antelopes 73-69 at GCU Arena on Saturday, January 25.
The UVU guard scored 24 points on 50 percent shooting to lead the Wolverines to the four-point win. He shot 8-16 from the field, 4-9 from behind the arc, and 4-6 from the free-throw line. Washington added 1 rebound, 4 assists, and 2 steals against the Antelopes.

Utah Valley had three players score in double figures against Grand Canyon.
Wolverine guards Casdon Jardine and Isaiah White each scored 10 points.
UVU outshot Grand Canyon 49.1 percent to 40 percent overall and 30.4 percent from three compared to 19.0 percent the Antelopes.
Grand Canyon was led by Carlos Johnson’s 21 points and Alessandro Lever’s 20 points.
The Wolverines stole the ball seven times and forced nine Grand Canyon turnovers in the win.

With the victory, Utah Valley improved to 9-13 overall and 3-4 in Western Athletic Conference games.
Grand Canyon moved to 9-12 on the season and 3-3 in conference play.
UVU returns to play against California Baptist on Wednesday, January 29 at 7 p.m. (MDT).
