SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert made a huge block against Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic.

Doncic was driving to the basket past Gobert when the two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year caught up to the Mavericks star and blocked his layup off the backboard.

The Mavericks had a 55-51 lead over the Jazz with 2:03 left in the second quarter.

Utah trailed by 3 at the half, but Gobert notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, along with 2 blocks.

Earlier in the period, the big man had a massive putback dunk that was shortly after teammate Donovan Mitchell had one. Mitchell was attacking the basket when he missed a layup in traffic but the lane was wide open for Gobert to attack and threw the ball through the rim with two hands.

The Jazz pulled within two points with 3 minutes left in the second quarter.

The game against Dallas started a tough stretch of facing teams currently in the playoff race in 10 of their next 12 games.
